Pamela Beats LGF in Weblog Awards, Gloats Accordingly

Well, though she didn't win the award for Best Conservative Blog (I'd be gagging had she managed that), the gloating at both Atlas Shrugs and Jihad Watch for amassing more points than LGF has begun. From AS:

THE WEBLOG AWARDS ARE OVUH!

Ah ...the sweet taste of victory. First, let me say I want to congratulate the first place winner, the Canadian blog that took first place, Small Dead Animals. WOOT! If Atlas didn't have a horse in this race, I would have voted for Kate. She has a sharp blog (Canadian conservative) and she beat Ace! Poetic justice! Ace, snarky misogynist (this is the guy, when introduced to me at CPAC 2007, the first thing he ever said to me was 'you got nice jugs ' - true story. Needless to say, it was the last time I ever spoke to him). ACE WAS BEATEN BY A GIRL. I love that.

Sweeter still. Atlas beat LGF. Read that again. No one admired that blog more. I was crushed when he turned and came down against the counter jihad movement and smeared a racist label on a wonderful conference that included Bat Ye’or, author of Eurabia and Islam and Dhimmitude and Robert Spencer, author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades), David Littman, Dr. Arieh Eldad, member of the Israeli Knesset, Dr. Patrick Sookhdeo, Director of the Institute for the Study of Islam and Christianity, Sam Solomon, Director of Fellowship of Faith for Muslims and author of the Charter of Muslim Understanding, the great Norwegian essayist Fjordman, Dr. Marc Cogen, Ghent University, Dr. Andrew Bostom, author of The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism, and Laurent Artur du Plessis, author of a forthcoming book on shariah finance, friends of Oriana Fallaci, and other brave leaders in this terrible war.

The meme at LGF is that I embraced fascists because I would not rebuke Filip Dewinter's attendance at the conference. The reality is Dewinter is not a fascist. Dewinter (years ago) said in Ghent, Belgium: "You should know, the real enemies of Israel today are not on the right, but rather on the left: the socialists and the Greens." The leftist/Islamic death to the Jews marches that we have seen these last 10 days haave certainly validated his point.

When LGF smeared that conference and me in the process, along with so many others, I thought it was the death of Atlas. He was huge, I was small.

A year later, I am not small. He is.

Ahh, the great writer of barely 101 university level essays, Fjordman! So we're obviously still dealing with small potatoes here, which exemplifies so perfectly the Great Soap Opera when such a post is tossed up to celebrate not winning the award, merely beating LGF by about 1,000 points or so. Then writing at length about the rift with the LGF side of things with numerous links (I included some original to the post, for the rest please see the post itself if you really want to dig that deep...LOL).

I might add here that there was a concerted effort at certain left-wing sites/parody sites such as Sadly, No! to stuff the ballot box for Pamela out of some wicked sense of humor, though I begged people there and elsewhere not to out of my own wicked sense of humor. But wait, there's an update!!

UPDATE: How great is this?

Atlas Shrugs has finished third in the 2008 Weblog Awards voting for Best Conservative Blog, and that is a major victory because Little Green Footballs, the ugly libel and slander site that used to be a significant anti-jihad voice on the web, finished...fourth.

Pamela has background about the stupid blog war that has gone on since October 2007, and I explain here how Charles Johnson smeared and defamed me for a couple of weblinks under a disclaimer. None of this would be important were it not for the fact that Charles Johnson from the beginning of the controversy made a ridiculous leap of illogic: he concluded that those who were unconvinced by his evidence that various European parties were racists and fascists must be racists and fascists themselves -- with the evidence for that being their very skepticism. And then he set out to destroy the reputations of those whom he had decided were racists and fascists.

That was unconscionable -- and he is still doing it. And even worse, he met with some success. That this vile behavior would meet only with obsequiousness or indifference in what can be called "the Internet community" compounds the injustice of it all. How many of those who have gone along with him like sheep, shunning those he has defamed, are really convinced by his arguments (which consist of things like people standing together in photos, as if getting your picture taken with someone means you agree with all his views), and how many are simply afraid of his numbers and influence?

And so it is deeply satisfying that one of Johnson's chief targets, Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs, a great friend of Jihad Watch and warrior for freedom and human rights, beat his site out in these Weblog Awards. Sure, it's just an Internet contest -- but tonight, it is a bit of poetic justice.

Yeah, just an internet contest. My thoughts exactly! Yet the length and links offered with these dual posts would imply that this is so much more, the rantings of self important bloggers against another self important blogger designed to further their little Soap Opera. Then again, that's just another reason to pass the popcorn here at this not-so-important blog...LOL. Anti-gloating report from LGF soon to come.

In another update, my comments on this video have been deleted, and they weren't even mean. HAHAHAHA! Come to think of it, there aren't many negative comments left. So much for being open to all opinions.
