Gates Hits Back with VB in Haaretz

Well, the GoV crowd (including frequent contributor Fjordman) are only referring to LGF as a certain "prominent American political blogs", but the message is the same. Baron Bodissey posts an article from Haaretz featuring a Vlaams Belanger explaining his support for Israel and the GoV commenters seem ecstatic. Baron even quotes a commenter from the Haaretz article:

In the comments accompanying the Haaretz article, a Jew from Antwerp confirms Mr. Vanhecke’s story based on his own experience:

I support myself Vlaams Belang since 7years now, since I lost my believe that traditional Belgian parties are willing to defend jews victims of racist attacks from muslim migrants youth on ground of PC and appeasement, and that they take a open anti-Israeli stand, to please their muslim client voters. The Belang is not a racist party. It is the last ditch that protect our society to become subjected to islam tainted. As a Jew I can testify that there are no antisemitism defended in the program of that party, and that these racism accusations are only a slander in order to bring them down. This is just like a stalinist process. I vote for them, and I know there are approx 30% of Antwerp Jews who are doing the same, even if they don’t recognize it always publicly.

Baron extrapolates here:

The propaganda campaign against the party has been so successful that false stories have spread abroad, making Vlaams Belang an untouchable group in European political circles. Bogus information about them has even made its way into prominent American political blogs.

Vlaams Belang has been falsely painted as a neo-fascist Nazi-sympathizing party, but not everyone has been fooled by this little bit of Belgian MSM legerdemain.

I would support the Vlaams Belang even if I didn't support anything in their party program, simply because the treatment they receive from the appalling bunch of Eurabian scumbags in power annoys me. Ditto with the Sweden Democrats in Sweden. I still think that breaking up Belgium, the geographical and institutional heart of the EU, will create cracks in the EU itself, which is good. European patriots should support the VB.

Belgium is an evil country and deserves to be split up.

Exactly to the point. Those who wish to destroy the Vlaams Balang, are the same people who (by default) seek to enslave the rest of Europe to as dhimmis to the system, whether it be Islamic or not.

The break up of Belgium is THE central issue here, not any of the bogus claims being disseminated by the European far anti-Israel Left, and a very miniscule American blog.

Let's put things in perspective.

LGF was right. It's not just because some Jews have Nazi sympathies that it is proved that the Vlaams Belang is not Nazi/fascist/evil/diabolic.
The only logical conclusion is that in Flanders there are Nazi evil Jews.

Boy, do I love these GoV comments. Then again, there is an entire blog devoted to recent comments at GoV, so knock yourselves out.

Update:Baron continues the sniping; this isn't over yet, not by a long shot:

Other parties can ignore wild-eyed accusations from the fringe. But let someone allege a VB Nazi salute or a VB neo-Nazi book fair, and Vlaams Belang is presumed guilty until it proves itself innocent — which it never really can.

Then the next day there is another bogus accusation, and the whole farce begins all over again.

Dymphna adds in the comments a nice 'canary in the coalmine' comment regarding VB:

"....SecondL VB is just a handy weapon by which to aim criticism at the American anti-jihad (and the European effort, too). If VB can be successfully persecuted into annihilation, then we, by association, are deserving of annihilation, too because we have stood on the front lines fighting off the constant barrage of lies about them -- and by indirection, about us....

And that sums up the "counter-jihad blogger" position quite well (well, the anti-LGF side of it at any rate); if this marginal anti-Islam party is stomped out in Europe then their fight against those evil Muslims is lost, and it just can't be, never!! Thanks for clearing this up for everyone, Baron, Dymphna and commenters.
